After practicing law for more than 25 years, Nancy Chemtob tells Business Insider that she hasn’t seen a spike in divorce quite like the result of Covid-19. In pre-pandemic times, Chemtob saw an average of two conflict checks from clients daily. Now, she sees seven or eight.

Lockdown has forced couples to face their marriage’s flaws, their ideological differences in terms of politics and parenting styles, and above all, financial distress.
